Why did I become a Micropreneur?

Hi, I’m John McEvoy. Welcome to my blog. I figured this is a great way to get to know me a little better and why I chose to partner up with CrowdPoint Technologies by becoming a micropreneur in their ecosystem.

When I was first introduced to CrowdPoint, I instantly knew and could see that CrowdPoint is the future. It is the Fourth Industrial Revolution and I knew that I wanted to be a part of it.
At first, my decision to become a mircopreneur was met with some hesitation as I was trying to figure out how am I going to do this? What do I know about running a business? But then I realized that I know more than I give myself credit for. In the past, I was a manager in the food and beverage industry. I was in charge of the daily operations, the budget, the purchasing of food/beverages, the hiring and removal of staff as well as figuring out solutions to any issues that arose. Finally, when I got burnt out from the long hours and seven days a week work schedule, I ended up working as a sales associate. As a sales associate, my job was able to help people figure out what they needed, how to get them into the right vehicle that met their budget and that they would be happy with.

Then COVID hit and as everyone knows life was flipped around and plans were changed. My wife and I had a long discussion regarding what we needed to do as a family. The conclusion that made sense was for me to stay at home with the children while she worked. My wife is a first responder and as such, she had to keep going to work. Not to mention she had a steady income. My income was based on commission and depended on how much I sold every week. So with everything closed down due to COVID our decision was made. I stayed home with our children who at the time were five and seven.

What we did not see until COVID was how as a family unit we were exhausted from the grind. What my wife and I came to realize during this entire time is that we were providing financially to our home but not really being a family. You see my wife worked nights and I worked days. We split up our weeks so that we did not need childcare more than two days a week when our workdays overlapped. We were stuck in this rat race constantly working but never seeming to get ahead, doing the best we could to raise our children and provide financially but lacking time together as a family unit.

When the opportunity arose to partner up with CrowdPoint Technologies and become a micropreneur I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. I decided to take a leap of faith in myself. I came to the conclusion that if I could work for others, I could certainly work for myself and my family. The CrowdPoint opportunity affords me the ability to work from home. This is perfect because I can still be there to take care of the kids, who love having one parent home with them at all times. My wife and I love spending time together as a family unit and are no longer willing to go back to our former lifestyle of split days off where one parent is home with the kids while the other is working. CrowdPoint provides me the ability of a flexible work schedule that a regular 9 to 5 does not, allowing me the ability to rejoin the workforce in a capacity that works for me and my family while helping to take some of the financial strain off my wife.

I feel blessed to have this opportunity to work for myself and to partner with a company that cares about the everyday person.
